GIANT HOUSE SPIDER
Size: up to 12cm wide
Description: dark orange, brown or beige in colour, they are commonly found in sheds and gardens. They can bite but they don’t pose a threat to humans
DADDY LONG LEGS
Size: vary in size
Description: they have round or oval bodies and have the trademark long, long legs. They live in a variety of places from meadows to your hallway, caves to your garage. Although they can bite, there are no known cases of this happening.
MONEY SPIDER
Size: the smallest spider in the UK, measuring no more than 5mm
Description: grey or black in colour they are found under leaves and in vegetation. They are harmless and a money spider is thought to bring your good luck…
CARDINAL SPIDER
Size: largest spider in UK, growing up to 14cm
Description: reddish/brown but young spiders are much paler. Lives in buildings or walls. Bites are rare and painless. Gets its name from the legend that Cardinal Thomas Woolsey was terrified of these spiders back in 16th Century Hampton Court.
